Providing customized source code control with CVS
This depends on the platform the user is on, the client software in use, and the chosen connection method. The possibilities are nearly endless, so I will restrict myself to combinations I would recommend on Unix and Microsoft Windows.
Unix:
Configure depending on whether you use ext or pserver. It is also possible to customize the individual account in some ways; see the sections on file descriptions and standardizing command options for details.
Microsoft Windows:
I assume, for the sake of specificity, that the client software is WinCvs. The instructions for the ext method are too long to be given here, but there is almost no configuration necessary for pserver.
