Providing customized source code control with CVS

CVS offers facilities to check the log comments, to see if they conform to a standard. This is done by creating a script or command that will check the comment itself, without reference to the file or files being checked in. It is not possible to verify the log message and the file before checking in, but it is possible to check it afterwards.
